Today is study day, so i am making the most of catching up with some correspondence.  And i thought i would share with you some pictures of the group and some of the people in our little village of Ropa. The photo with the four little girls - Neha, Vandana, Muskan and Nikita are usually out and about when i head to the spring to get drinking water, they run and greet me ... Then there is Puja at her loom, weaving and her daughter Priya doing her school work.  The two little boys with the baby goats love to hang out near our ashram and are always really excited to spend time with us... The two women with flowers (for eating) are on their way back from working in the fields, as i was taking a walk up the hill to sit by the river, we exchanged greetings.
The group photo is when we were at Nagar and taken in the castle there... most of the group are present and enjoying a bit of breathing space in between our intense training program.

That's it from me for now, I hope you are enjoying the unfolding of spring and all the beautiful flowers and blooming that happens at this time.. i am imagining everything is super green now ... and i hope that along with it you are finding fresh energy and inspiration to move forward on your journey...

Sending much love to you, trusting you are well and i look forward to seeing you in about a month.. meanwhile i give thanks to Magdalena and Sharon for teaching my yoga classes in my absence and hope you are enjoying their beautiful gifts ...

.... will keep you posted as the adventures unfold...
Love and Blessings,
Sian

Hoping that this finds you well and enjoying some sunnier days

Here in the Himalayas, as we draw to a close with the first yoga teacher training, we have just had a very cold, wet and cloud immersed week... Thankfully, today the sun shines and the plants look even greener, fresher and more vibrant than before and the whole land is nourished as the river rushes by and our usual stepping stones are under water.  It seems regardless of the weather, the diversity of the morning birdsong cannot help but enliven the heart.

Come the end of this week, we will be starting with a new group of aspiring yoga teachers to train... Each time a new adventure, new learning and discovery ...

This current group has been really beautiful and we have become very connected after living and training for almost a month together ... we are from all over the world - Germany, Canada, the USA, Australia, Caribbean, Brazil, the UK, Chile, Croatia and beyond... so quite a lot of diversity  ... a few nights ago we had a cultural evening and were sharing dances and songs and all sorts of talents and it was such a wonderful coming together of souls, honouring various traditions... really inspiring!

Arrival in the Himalayas

I have arrived in the Himalayas for the yoga teacher training and in the process of preparing for the arrival of all the students.  The journey was long, but smooth... and took around 2 full days to get here in our remote mountain village called Ropa.

The bus from Delhi to Kullu (in Himachal Pradesh) was fairly comfortable by Indian standards and we arrived at our destination, to early morning birdsong and fresh, fresh air  after 14 hours of windy mountain roads ... (fortunately, our tummies were intact!)

It is much colder here than usual and about the same temperature as the UK... some trees are sprouting new leaves and there are a few pink and white blossoms around... intermingled with orange trees and lemon trees....

By our house/ashram is a river rushing through and all sorts of small farming ventures along its banks... the hills rise up around us with trees and also houses and steppe farming.... in the distance the snowy mountains help to keep us refrigerated!...

The morning is divine with the birds awakening at dawn... and such a variety i am  only starting to get to know...
